Go Change The World! Coach Out!

Speaker 1:

Thank you, what's up everybody. Welcome back to that Thursday thing. We're doing it at 7 o'clock pm every Thursday night. We are in the house. Herb is in the house, Roger's on the side out here holding it down for us in the comments section and I've got John from the Cinco Squad you can see in his house. Herb is in the house, Roger's on the side, I hear, holding it down for us in the comments section and I've got John from the Cinco Squad. You can see in his background. Big time Michigan fan, the Eagle stuff. You couldn't control that part. I couldn't edit that part out. So how you guys doing today? How you guys man.

Speaker 2:

Doing great, doing great. Thanks for having us. We appreciate it.

Speaker 1:

Yes, doing great thanks for having us. We appreciate it.

Speaker 3:

Yes, sir, my pleasure man everybody how you doing, brother, you good man coming from work, but I'm good, you know anytime you can talk to me better.

Speaker 1:

Holy, without question, without question, this is gonna be the highlight of my day today. All right, so roger's in the house. Good evening, sir. Glad to have you out here, brother. All right, so let's jump in. We got a lot to talk about. Ain't no sense in messing around, let's go ahead and get into it. So, as you guys have been seeing, we have a weekly series. I think this is just the last one. This is our last SWX. All right, it might very well be the last one or the next to last one. I can check, but I have to take my eyes off of you guys. I don't want to do that, but I think this might be the last one, and it's the last one.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to cause trouble if you kick your eyes off us.

Speaker 1:

Perhaps we're going to do that real quick. So our SWX is strength, weakness and X factors of every team in the NFL. This week we got the Bengals, the Colts, the Giants and the Falcons, so we're going to jump in. If we got the same answers, it's okay. We can just move on to the next point, since we got so much NFL to cover. Yes, don't need to group head the wheel. If it's the same answers, we keep the train moving. It's probably going to be that most of the time, because we kind of see the same things. So it's all good.

Speaker 1:

But first off, the Bengals biggest strength in 2023. I'll jump it off. It's going to be the passing game. Joe Burrow was sounding like he had a risk issue already, which is like season didn't even start yet, you already hurt. So this is like an awful start already, but I guess it's manageable. But the passing game you got T Higgins out here, you got Jamar Chase, you got Challen out here. He can throw the ball too. Tyler Boyd is gone, so they were kind of relying on Jermaine Burton to kind of pick up the slack. If T Higgins can't play, which is a possibility, he's questionable and you're looking at Jermaine Burton to kind of hold things down. He just came over from free agency, so we see how that goes.

Speaker 3:

But passing game was the same.

Speaker 1:

Burton was drafted, though, right.

Speaker 3:

Not free agency with Jermaine Burton, that's our guy. But yeah, I put passing game still regardless.

Speaker 1:

I don't know how you can kind of look at it, it's how a boy lives in free agency. Jermaine Burton was drafted correct.

Speaker 3:

Yes, sir, sorry about that yeah, I just didn't see how I could look at it any other way. I looked at other stuff. I was like I mean, they're living and dying by what they can do there, you know, with Burrow and Chase back there.

Speaker 2:

So I mean that's it for the Bengals. To me, easy is obviously I mean the passing game right, we're going to look at that. But when we look at the Bengals, I'm saying their defense. Their defense in secondary was third in the NFL last year. You kidding.

Speaker 2:

I'm saying that's going to be their biggest strength. This year is going to hold them down in big games. If you look at their schedule, they got a really tough schedule. They went in the draft and went crazy. Got our boy Chris Jenkins from Michigan, got Shosh Newman from TCU, which I actually like that pick, I think it's going to be a sneaky good pick. And then you got I can't say his name DeJohn Anthony from Ole Miss. I think those picks are going to help them in the long run because I've been saying this on our show that depth wins football games, especially in the NFL. Especially when you get deeper in the season, depth and defense win football games.

Speaker 1:

So I'm saying the strength for the Bengals this year is going to be I've never seen a defense be a strength for them in I don't know how many years now, maybe more than 10. So this is monumental coming out of your mouth. It's all good, though. I love the different opinions Top three defense I'm not sure if KB and I have met, but thank you so much for jumping on. Appreciate you supporting the show.

Speaker 3:

I'm sorry, KB Huge Bama folks.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Love to get a chance to meet you. This is awesome. I said the highlight of the day so far. I thought I said so far, did I not?

Speaker 3:

No, you did the highlight of the day so far.

Speaker 1:

I thought I said so far, did I not? No, you just said highlight of the day. Herb on my side, you're not doing your job, do?

Speaker 3:

you want me to be on your side or on the side of Chief Justice? Yes, it's the same thing.

Speaker 1:

The side of Chief Justice and my side. It's the same thing, it's not different. Biggest weakness I'm going with running back here. I mean it's kind of hard to not go running back here. I had to do that because they got rid of Joe Mixon. Right, I said got rid of, but football business, but they got rid of Joe Mixon and what do you have left? I mean you're kind of relying on Zach Moss Now.

Speaker 1:

I ain't got nothing against him, but his time in Buffalo it was up and down, not in the realm of pass catching, especially in 2020, his first year, 2021, it did pick up a little bit, but in his three years this is the number one guy right now. So tell me what you think about it. This is the number one guy Three years in the league, 2,076 yards, 14 touchdowns, 75 receptions and 523 yards. If you like that and're good with that as your number one guy should be no problem. Maybe him get a chance to be the main guy might help out, but it wasn't. It wasn't joe mixing type numbers. It's a big, big drop off from that. I want to handle that, especially with joe burrow needing all the support off of him as possible because all of the injury issues he's been having.

Speaker 1:

But I got one in back there. It kind of goes into my X factor. I got Zach Moss as the X factor. If he comes in and he tears it up, everybody might forget that Joe Mixon is not there. So you have my X factor and my weakness at the same time. So, herb, I think you're next. What's?

Speaker 3:

your weakness for um the bangles for 2023. I still went defense. Uh, I was kind of disregarding, like, the additions and just kind of going off. What last year 31st rank in defense. Uh, what bottom five and both passing it and um and running. So, uh, rushing defense, excuse me. So I still went with defense on that one hard to well.

Speaker 1:

I know john never say defense, so what do you got for weakness, john?

Speaker 2:

I was going with the running game and, realistically, the NFL is skewing more and more towards away from the running game. Right, and it's sad to see, because I love a good running attack to balance out your offense. But it's definitely the running game and I don't know, I just don't know much about Zach Moss Tra the running game. And I don't know, I just don't know much about Zach Moss Travion Williams is very unknown. I don't know who Chase Brown is. Sounds like a country artist.

Speaker 3:

What if he was Like? What if that was it? I mean, he could be.

Speaker 2:

Rightfully so. Some of your music. I'll listen to it, but like you sound like a country artist, I just don't know much about the Bengals' run game and I think with Gilbrow coming back from like that elbow injury, you need to have a solid running game for him so he's not throwing the ball 70 times a game. Now you're going to have that. It's going to be very scary come the rest of the season. Late in the season, I should say.

Speaker 1:

Mike Moss was an RB2 in Buffalo behind Devin Singletary. But what do you guys have to add?

Speaker 3:

John, you go first. My X factor yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yes, sir, I mean you know the tight end position I think is going to be the X factor on this team. I think Mike Gusecki has a lot to prove, still a lot in the tank. Got a raw deal in Miami, kind of got, you know, went to the Patriots when the Patriots are kind of like in limbo. I think it's going to be a key factor for Higgins and Chase to have a successful season. They need a third guy. I think Gusecki can be that X factor that could short dump offs, you know, allow them to spread the field, get the open field in the middle easy first down. Those types of things I think are going to be huge and critical for the Bengals to have success Cause, like I said I mean I keep saying it, but have you guys seen their schedule? It's pretty tough at the end, you know they got to go Cleveland, denver, pittsburgh, tampa, chicago to finish the season. So not a very tough one, but not a very easy one either.

Speaker 1:

Yep and Drew Sample. I think he's serviceable. I like him back there. He's been helpful, especially to the other JB when Joe Burrow went out. But don't forget who else is back there Eric Hall. Remember him. Remember Eric Hall. Yep, used to be with us, went over to Iowa. He's out there soon so maybe we can expect something nice or some kind of competition in the tight end room. Cap, who's in the house? Good evening man. Thank you for joining us. Appreciate the love and support Roll Tide. All right, look at this. Chase Brown is the number one country hit Bengals in the backyard.

Speaker 2:

It's the name of the album yes, that's the name of the album someone tag him in the comments. We gotta see if he's actually he's gonna pop on this show and just start playing his guitar and I'm like yes I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I don't know where to get it back. Continue moving, guys. Okay, atlanta falcons biggest strength. I run it off. I I'm sketchy about this one. I feel like it's it's true, but I don't know if it's the truest.

Speaker 1:

I'm going with the run defense here now. That's only because it's not because of any position. It's more like the certain guys on different parts of the defense that contribute to a strong one defense, like jesse bakes, who came over uh via, I think about two or three years ago. Calais Campbell is now on a team. He's been notorious for his strong one defense during his time in Baltimore. Cade Nellis as well. So they kind of have what's considered an elite one defensive unit, which we'll see. I think they were second behind Miami in team one defense grade last year. I think they had like ninth. They were like ninth in yards allowed, which is like really good. I would say it's a strength. Right now you could say some other stuff, but offensively I'm not sure yet. But in that regard one defense should be the strength. What do you guys have for the Atlanta Falcons biggest strength-wise?

Speaker 2:

You know I'm looking at it.

Speaker 1:

Oh did I go out of turn?

Speaker 3:

No, no, you're the talent, so you always get an answer.

Speaker 2:

I'm in agreeance with you. On the defensive side of the ball, again, I'm a big defensive head, I play defense, oh, but that addition of Justin Simmons is huge, the veteran presence getting his money. I mean, he's going to feel disrespected because he went for free agent for so long that I think he plays a factor in that secondary. And who knows what, kirk Cousins, we're going to get right, are we?

Speaker 3:

going to get. You know what I mean, kirk.

Speaker 2:

O'Chain. We don't know what he's going to be, so I'm saying the secondary. What about you, eric?

Speaker 3:

I went with skill positions just because of how much draft capital they've put into it in the past couple years, you know with Pitts, London, Bijon and even Pennix. So I'm hoping it's a strength. A lot of what you said, Richie, it's still unproven, we have no idea, but as much as they're putting into it, it better be a strength. That's what's going to happen.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of like all the troops are going to the center of the table right now. It feels that way to me. Yeah, B John has a lot to prove.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then you look at this next part.

Speaker 3:

I don't think it's all B.

Speaker 2:

John's fault, though. No, no, I can't Correct me, no.

Speaker 3:

And then they didn't have a quarterback.

Speaker 2:

Right Now they have two.

Speaker 3:

I actually really like Michael Talk about overcorrecting. Yeah, right.

Speaker 2:

It's like, hey, we're going to get this right one way or another.

Speaker 1:

If we don't, I'm fired, I'll leave myself and I mentioned all the chips being at the center of the table. Now I have to say what the weakness is. It's going to undo everything I was saying earlier. All right, so the biggest weakness is going to be the cornerbacks, which is like, okay, this shouldn't be your problem, but unfortunately it is Mike. Okay, this shouldn't be your problem, but unfortunately it is Mike Hughes is the number one.

Speaker 1:

I don't know how much you guys remember him. Started off in Minnesota with the Chiefs for a brief stint, got let go from the Chiefs, detroit for a brief stint, and then in Atlanta. So he bounced around a little bit, played 72 games in six years. Do the math on that one. We're talking about an average of 12 games every year, which is not ideal if you can help it. And beside him they got AJ Terrell. He's been there for a while, but besides that they only have two guys outside of these two starters.

Speaker 1:

So if either one of these guys get hurt, they have a serious depth issue with the whole point. That's why this is a weakness, because they got nobody back there and it feels like they're not even trying to correct it. You can't have three cornerbacks on opening day. You just can't do that, but that's what they're going to be doing. So they believe in torero for real because he's like the second uh behind jerry alexander from the packers getting big money contract. I think his was like like about I thought I had the numbers, but I think it was about $20 million, I think it was a year for him. So they believe in Terrell but if he gets hurt they're going to have one guy back there and both guys in depth are unproven. So it's not a good situation to go into this kind of year where it feels like you're kind of going for it all. What do you guys have for the weaknesses, for the Falcons?

Speaker 2:

I mean, when do I start? Honestly, I think their weakness is their tight end position. Honestly, I don't know if I trust Kyle Pitts as much as he's been hyped up to be. I also think they ran him into the ground his first two years. It's almost not as severe as RG3 when RG3 came in the league, but I mean he was getting what Probably like 15, 15 attempts per game from the quarterback or in running the ball and doing this and doing that. They're asking him to do a lot. I just think he's going to be their weakness because I think he's worn out. I hope not, because I really like him and you know I have him in fantasy.

Speaker 3:

I was wondering when that was going to come up.

Speaker 2:

He's on my bench, he's my backup behind Kittle, but you know. So like I'm hoping that he does well enough where I can get a good trade in there. But I'm saying Kyle Pitts this year, although I'm pulling for him, copy that what you got Herbo.

Speaker 3:

I still went with the pass rush, even though I know they made a couple additions late for it. This was the part that they were supposed to address in the draft and they went with Pennix instead. So I still, until I've seen better from them, I'm going to say that. And by the way. That also just so we don't skip my X-Factor this time around. My X factor is so no, it's fine, Y'all.

Speaker 3:

Bengals X factors were so much better, so I figured we just moved on. Penix is my X factor for this one, Cause I already what'd I say on on the show that I missed. I think Penix is going to end the season at quarterback for the Falcons. That's my hot take of the year.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to go with Penix as my factor. The quicker he moves in, Maybe he takes over. He also fits the ages of the rest of the skill positions. It doesn't seem like if you were thinking about even getting Penix, why'd you get Cousins in the first place? That's a whole other conversation I'm with Penix.

Speaker 2:

Copy. That's a whole other conversation. I'm with Pennix Copy that. Okay, that's a great point. I mean, the team is just young and the offense that they're going to run is a high-powered offense that's going to move the ball quickly and try to get downfield. I don't think Kirk has that in him. When you saw like they tried to do that in Minnesota and they were like, no, let's get rid of some guys for Kirk so we can make it more to his offense.

Speaker 2:

When they built the offense for Pennix. And just for everyone to know, I love that pick from Atlanta at number nine Because he was not going to be there any other time and I know Mike and Trey if they're watching they're probably going to lose it. They were all on me. They're like that's not a good pick. I swear he's going to be there. I, they were all on me. They're like that's not a good pick. I swear he's going to be there. I'm like no, he was not. So I agree with you, herb, that's the X factor on the team right there.

Speaker 1:

When will we see him? Yeah, mine will be quick, because it has to be Cousins at this point. I mean, if he's starting, if he does anything that's close to serviceable, guess what? This is going to be a good situation, especially as it pertains to play action. I think that's what they want to do, especially with B John and whatnot and what their O-line looks like. So if he can thrive in that kind of environment, it's going to be good for the team, even if Penance does take over at some point. Having Kirk Cousins play strong we know how it is at the end of the season. And Kirk Cousins plays strong we know how it is at the end of the season, sometimes under the hot lights. We've seen what he's done, but if he's serviceable at all, this is going to help them get closer to their goal. They have the weakest strength of schedule in the entire league, I think. So that plays into it. What do you got, john, for your extractor?

Speaker 2:

Oh, it was Penix. Yeah, he went with Penix also. Oh, Penix. Okay cool Mike. Yeah, he went with Penix also.

Speaker 1:

Oh, penix, yeah, okay, cool Mike right there. Yeah, yeah, I hear you, mikey.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, when I'm looking at Kurt, I mean the one thing I never do, like if I see a team go 4-0 or 4-1 or whatnot, but then don't sign Cousins.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but I Another thing already happened.

Speaker 2:

I went into this three months ago already.

Speaker 3:

So I agree with that point, but like it's, like you said, you know they didn't, they didn't foresee it and you can't not you know, if they didn't get pinnix in the draft and the Hensline cousins and they'd be, you know really out of it, but it does look terrible in hindsight.

Speaker 2:

But look, I always say this my team is a perfect example. It does not hurt if you have a great backup, it does not hurt. Look it, is that a pun?

Speaker 1:

It doesn't hurt if you have a good backup your ex-factor. What do you got brother For who? Your ex-factor? Yeah, I ain't going to skip it. I don't want you to what you got brother For who? Yeah, you got your minutes. Yeah, I ain't going to skip it again. I don't want you to be mad at me.

Speaker 3:

I'm just going to. Mr U is just not listening to me at all tonight.

Speaker 2:

He's like okay, John, I feel bad though, because when I went on your show, herb, I kind of like threw you to the gutters and he's like damn, I'm going to have a John on again. I'm getting thrown over to the side.

Speaker 1:

Nah, nah, nah, come on y'all, let's keep it straight, I'm going to go get follow-ups.

Speaker 3:

I'll just be back in about 20 minutes.

Speaker 2:

You sit down. We're going to do another show with me gone, so you guys can have your.

Speaker 1:

For the coach, my strength can be a bit of a surprise.

Speaker 1:

It's going to be a surprise. None of you guys are going to say this. I'm going with the D-line. Okay, this is based on football grade purely. This is not names. I remember the name. These guys are just good at one-stopping. Deforest Buckner is the name that's out there. You guys recall him from the 90s. I think it was Been one of the name that's out there. You guys may recall him from the 90s. I think it was Been one of the best interior guys out there for quite a while, since he was in San Fran, I think about eight years ago. So their numbers are really high. They even got one of Rodgers' guys from the Dolphins, ray Con Davis. I forgot about him. I was like where did he end up at? So they got some debt with him. I think it's their strongest position and they're going to need that because they're playing offenses that are going to be massive like a Cincinnati and KC. So this is going to be a strength for them. What do you guys have for the coach strength? Anybody got D-line.

Speaker 3:

No, I had to go running back. Running game, not even just running backs, Running game with you know you got to put the O-line into it, one of the best in the game. I think we put them up there when we did the O-line. Taylor coming back, and then Richardson he's more of a runner than a passer right now. You have to add that in there. So I think, as a total, running game is going to be their best.

Speaker 1:

Love me some Trey Sermon. I drafted him in our league.

Speaker 2:

I mean it's not a bad pick, right, like Jonathan Taylor had a one breakout year and you expect him to be that top perennial running back, but you never know, with injuries, right. So I think their strength I mean I can't, I mean I was looking at the same thing you were is that the defensive line is loaded and I'm like looking at like their top draft pick is sitting behind Quiddy Pay, deforest Buckner, raycon Davis is backing up Grover Stewart, like that is a tough defensive line and that is going to be yeah, a lot too.

Speaker 1:

I'm like they got guys out here doing it, man, so I'm like yeah they're going to be tough to run against.

Speaker 2:

I mean it's just, it's no joke, it's going to be tough. You got to have a good offensive line to play against this 4-3 defense. So I'm going to have to agree with you Copy that.

Speaker 1:

So the weakness I'm going with the secondary. It's obviously as a matter of fact. I don't want to dog him, but he's been like that for quite a few years now. They have mainstay guys that have been there that are still on the team, like Kenny Moore. The second I forgot the other guy. He used to be on the team. He's at the Braves I'm blank playing on his name, but he was one of the strengths there. But the second has been a problem for a while and it still is. It still is that one of their main guys. I guess. He got busted for gambling, got suspended and now he's on your team now. So you guys picked him up, john. So it's like they got a lot of. They had a lot of young, unproven guys out there. It's going to be a problem against the kind of offense they're going to be facing in the AFC. What do you guys have for weakness? Who's up first?

Speaker 3:

The star of the show, John John's going first.

Speaker 1:

Who's the star of the show? I thought it was you oh? I honestly thought that yeah.

Speaker 2:

I got to say their weakness is going to be their receiving core. I think, other than Pittman Jr, josh Johns right now is going to be their receiving core. I think other than pitman jr and josh johns right now is questionable to start the season. It's like you look behind there. It's like who they got right and you're not really sure about what's going on with the tight end game. I mean, they got four of them on the roster and you know molly cox was a pivotal part of the offense last year. Um, but you just don't know, like I just don't see other than Pittman Jr who's going to step up and be that. I think there's so much of a gap between the one and the two. It's not as close as everyone thinks.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and so I went with passing game as a whole as well, because I also threw Richardson in the mix. You know he was more of a runner than a passer, obviously in college. Because I also threw Richardson in the mix, you know he was more of a runner than a passer, obviously in college. And then you miss most of last year so you don't know what kind of development he's gotten. So that's why I put the passing game as a whole and I look same thing as you. The depth chart looks terrible, like I'm triple team in Pittman every time down and probably not worrying about most of what else is going on.

Speaker 3:

So, I definitely went passing game. The one I definitely went passing game and that also kind of led into my X factor is Richardson. I mean, he's really the key to this whole thing. If he's more of a runner which we think he is, and the running game thrives, that's fine. But if they start loading up on that, can he do anything else to beat him?

Speaker 1:

And then, if that is it, like do I just throw a tip in every time? And a runner. If he is healthy and he's doing that, the offense is going to be dynamic. I'll say keep an eye on Adonai Mitchell. I don't want to discount him. He came in highly regarded. If he does what people think he's going to do, then Triple T and Pittman is going to be a bad idea. So we'll see how that turns out. All right, did I miss anything? We'll see how that turns out. All right, did I miss?

Speaker 2:

anything. Everybody got their coats off. Did I miss you, john? Well, I just got one for the X Factor and it's kind of similar to what Irv is. It's going with the offensive coordinator.

Speaker 2:

How do you reel in Anthony Richardson? Because, realistically, we've seen this before. We've seen quarterbacks like of his size, his speed, his athleticism. Seen quarterbacks like of his size, his speed, his athleticism come into the league and try to overpower these 280 pound, 260 pound linebackers and defensive tackles and they're not winning that battle. There's only one player that I know that always took that on and that was cam newton. And cam newton took it on very seldomly and would run people over, run over 280-pound guys.

Speaker 2:

Anthony Richardson's not built like that. He's big but he's not built like Cam Newton. So, anthony Richardson, if the offensive coordinator can reel Anthony Richardson in and say, look, you are not going to last in this league if you do not slide, if you do not avoid the big game, if you do not throw the ball out of bounds, get out of bounds, do what you got to do to get yourself a longevity career, then I think that's going to be the X factor, because coaching is what's going to reel him in. I mean, look at Jalen hurts one year to the next. He needed to make that change.

Speaker 1:

Copy that. All right, the last one for SWS is going to be the giants Go to the biggest strength.

Speaker 2:

I Is there one oh?

Speaker 1:

God, I think I'm not even sure about this, this thing that I like about the team in different spots, I think, just some spots on the defense. You know what? I'll just go with the low-hanging fruit. I'm going to say the pass rush because it's undeniable. If you got you know guys, because Okawiki does rush at times. You got Brian Burns, you got Thibodeau and you got Sexy Dexy. You know what I'm saying? You don't want these three monsters coming after you. It's like it's not going to be good If you get past the first unit. You got to deal with Bobby over there and Micah and it's not going to be pretty. So I like what they're doing. It's formidable. It's probably going to be their strength as far as things stand right now, because I haven't seen anything but practice. So that's strength-wise. If you guys want to punt on this, it ain't going to hurt my feelings. I'm good with it. I went with neighbors.

Speaker 3:

I went with neighbors. I thought that was a good pick. I thought they could have reached at quarterback and didn't decide not to do that. They went with something that was Now obviously got their weakness. Well, no, we won't go to that. I went with neighbors.

Speaker 2:

I thought Love you guys.

Speaker 1:

Mikey just digging the nails.

Speaker 2:

He's a Giants fan. Do you want to do the concept?

Speaker 3:

You said he's a Giants fan. Do you want to do the concept?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he's a Giants fan. Mike's a Giants fan, like a huge Giants fan, huge, okay, all right, go aheadants. Fan.

Speaker 1:

Huge, okay, all right, go ahead, eric, I'm sorry, go ahead.

Speaker 3:

Neighbors was mine. I like the pig.

Speaker 2:

The biggest strength is and this is a funny one, but the biggest strength is that MetLife turf, oh my goodness Play factors and games. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3:

I'm not going to do that.

Speaker 2:

No, no, no, I'm not going to do that. I don't wish injuries but that turf is the worst turf in the league. We all know that. But I got to say you know their biggest.

Speaker 1:

I didn't know it was the biggest one. Is there a ranking for this? Is that the worst in the league? I didn't know that, yeah 100%.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it got voted by 130.

Speaker 1:

Is it turfrankingcom?

Speaker 2:

I forget who did it, but it was on the McAfee show that it was voted by like 130 players or something like that. That's incredible. I was like damn, but it makes sense. There's been so many injuries on that turf that it's like I don't know.

Speaker 2:

It's true, true, but my biggest, my biggest strength on that team, um, I mean it. I it's the defense line or the receiving receivers. I mean they got better. Um, I think neighbors brings a really big factor. That lsu receiver, I mean I don't know what, why they're addicted to the giants, but they're. They're there like Odell was, but I think the neighbors is going to come out and really show out and show why he should have probably been the top receiver off the board.

Speaker 1:

Weakness-wise, I'm going to go with again the last thing that we've seen and that's going to be the O-line. Have they improved? I believe they have. Have they made some moves that I think are going to make a? Uh, at least a measurable difference? With alumino coming in at right tackle instead of evan neal, I think it's better. Greg van roten's going to be, uh, a stabilizing presence at right guard. I liked him better than aaron steny starting uh, we'll see what Smith will be doing. John Runyon I liked him over there instead of what we had outside of that. And Andrew Thomas was a stud last year. He did fantastic under the circumstances. I think they've improved, but I haven't seen it in real games. So I'm going to say they're going to be the weakness for right now, but I reserve the right to change my mind on that one. All right, what do you guys have for a weakness? If anything, I'm?

Speaker 3:

sure, there's plenty you can pick from, but what do you have? No, I went online too. I felt like that was one of the areas he needed to improve the most.

Speaker 1:

for sure, I love you, rod. I just feel like something's piercing my heart when people make these comments. I guess because I don't hear from these folks that much, and when the Giants come up people just feel funny. It's just me, don't worry about it, keep going.

Speaker 3:

You hear from Raj all the time. You can't say that.

Speaker 1:

I don't hear a good thing about my team from Raj. When the Giants come up or Michigan comes up, I hear shots. I don't hear no positives. I need a mixture of positive. Same way I gave him with the Dolphins. I gave him a mixture of positive and criticism. I don't just give him all criticism, I give him both. We can get a little dolphin with the SWX. I get a dolphin's love in a whole bunch of areas. I didn't miss that show by Yogi.

Speaker 3:

I don't even get it. Ron says more shots at me than he does anybody else on the show that's true.

Speaker 1:

They're going to be sad. I'll be quiet. I don't want you to be quiet, man, man, I want you to be fair. Okay, so it's all good.

Speaker 3:

He said Davis was a good pick. We just ignored that part, Mark.

Speaker 1:

We just oh, so you're going to defend a person that's attacking me? Good stuff, Herb. Okay, keep going, man. What else you got? Weakness.

Speaker 2:

O-line is that it. You're gonna be quiet too. I love it. This is awesome. All right, john, go ahead.

Speaker 2:

Weakness, my weakness is none other and it's the most obvious one. It's daniel jones. I mean, I think we've seen him. He's been in the league for five years. He's been had one successful season. Now I have given him a break.

Speaker 2:

When you have four coordinators in five years, how do you have success?

Speaker 2:

Right, but at the end of the day, when him, when he came out of duke, I think if he would have been drafted in the fourth or fifth round, we wouldn't be talking about him in this light.

Speaker 2:

But when you're drafted with their, with your second pick, and you're paying him 40 million dollars, he is their weakness. This year, I think he just he just he had one good season and then you trade away their best players and Saquon, you're not giving him the opportunity to have success and I just feel like he's going to be the weakness, because I don't think you saw much out of him last year that gave you hope for the future. You were just like wow, that was a huge step back, even the games that he was in. It was like what was this? Where did the Daniel Jones go that we just saw in the playoff running 80 yards up the field in Minnesota, so I just can't see it. Unfortunately, I think we're going to see a backup or someone come in for him at some point this year, because they're going to be sick of this shit. Give me that.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, I don't have a beeper man, so I had a deeper expectation than Daniel Jones. But honestly, you guys aren't wrong. It kind of is what it is. But I'll go with Daniel Jones. I think the honorable mention is going to be John Michael Schmidt because he was one of the worst centers last year is uh, but I'll go with daniel jones. I think honorable mention is going to be john michael schmidt because he was one of the worst sinners last year and it's like that played a part in in a lot of the old line struggles. So if he picks that up, it'll help out. As far as dj goes, it is what it is, this right here. I don't want this. I've been on the record consistent. I don't want this. I've been on the record consistent. I don't want that to happen. That can't be the answer. It's not Drew Lockheed, but it's not that. All right. What do you guys have to expect, herb? What do you got?

Speaker 3:

I was going to let y'all go first, because I have three of them ready.

Speaker 1:

Copy that. Okay, John, what do you got?

Speaker 2:

I think Jalen Hyatt's going to be a next factor. I think he's going to um have a good year. Like I said, I don't think daniel jones will finish the year at quarterback, but I think he will be a pivotal part. Right now they have him and this is where the weird part they have him backing up um neighbors, which I how do you not slide him into the starting spot? They said he had a bad year last year. But you can't have a bad year if you don't get the ball thrown to you very often. So it's very hard to do that. So I think Jalen Hines is going to take a step this year in the right direction. I think he's going to be a pivotal part of neighbor success because he's going to have a breakout first four games and then you're going to see neighbors basically take off like you would expect them to. I'm going to say Jalen Hyatt.

Speaker 1:

They go three wide a lot. So Hyatt's going to be out there. I think they got Slayton backing him up, so he's kind of the fourth man on the totem pole with that one. So you'll see them walk. They go three wide a lot. What do you got Herbo?

Speaker 3:

And you kind of said Daniel Jones earlier for yours and that was good. I've kind of forgotten how it was out there, so I went with then either Evan Neal or Coach.

Speaker 3:

Dable as one of my X factors. Yeah, if they can rehabilitate Neal with that switchover which you know, I asked a couple guys about it, they thought that moving him to guard would work out, that'll still help and you know you still kind of keep the value of a high draft pick. But you know I've said several times about Dable and his body language last year I didn't like that and how he's kind of adjusting to things.

Speaker 2:

So I think him and the way he coaches here is a big X factor. Can I say one thing on that? Shout out to Dable, though. I mean I went on a weight loss journey this past year. I lost 80 pounds this past year from January to now. But shout out to Dable for losing the weight and putting the work in. I think that bodes well for a lot of people when you see, especially when you're like, hey, I'm working in the offseason, better myself, you need to better yourself too. So I love that mentality that he went in with um. So, you know, shout out to him in that aspect. Just want to put that out there okay.

Speaker 1:

No, that's good stuff. Congratulations, brother. That's a big deal, man. It's very proud of you and we're glad you're in better health. Man, that's awesome. I like it. I like it all right. Like it All right. Swx, we'll find out before the show goes off air. That's our last one or not, I can't tell. We're going NFL heavy, so it may be that, but it's going to be all good, no matter what. But NFL, that's where we're going to be hanging out at All right. So a little bit of college football talk. We with it, we usually talk about it. So, from last week, just some quick uh highlights from you guys. What, what stood out to you guys, even if it's outside of your team, your favorite team. What stood out for you guys? I know that john might go a certain place, but what stood out for you guys in college football for week one? Anything that jumped out, it was like a, you know, a wild moment or something that kind of got your attention, got you curious, anything like that in general.

Speaker 3:

How many of the better teams like struggled out of the gate against a lot of teams you know it's it was several and not even you know.

Speaker 3:

Like you said, michigan probably did, but ohio state seems like it should start. Oregon slept, walked through their whole game, but there's just so many examples of teams that just look terrible coming out the gate. So, and it's kind of sometimes why we were asked on our show would you rather schedule, you know, a good out of conference game for week one, or like a cupcake one and then a better team week two? I want to go cupcake week one and then better game week two, just because of what I saw this past weekend.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I mean I kind of agree with you on that one. Looking at the scores and watching the games, I had the quad box going the entire time and you know, just watching these games I'm like holy crap, you know, penn State, you know, put a butt whooping on West Virginia. But then you had you know what game was it? Yeah, it was Oregon and Idaho. I was like holy crap, idaho's in this game. And then the other game that was kind of surprising and I think is going to test Oregon this week and I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, but Boise State.

Speaker 2:

Boise State proved a lot this week. Like, oh, is this the Boise State of, like the early 2000s that we're seeing that type of team? I think we're starting to see a. The college football starts to come a little bit closer right. You know how, like the NFL, now there's so much parody. Now we're seeing a lot more parody in college football. That is good for the game. Like, we love seeing the good games. I don't like watching offense herb, I don't like watching alabama win 63, nothing, I know you do because it's nice, and I would too if it was michigan.

Speaker 2:

But if I'm a general fan, just watching it, I would like to see a good game, you know, um. So but like the nordic west texas am game was amazing, um. So I think just the parity in college football is just getting so much better with the transfer portal, the NIL money, it's really good for the game. This is a great part to be in college football right now.

Speaker 1:

Great, no questions. Before we get into any one highlight for week two, tell me why you guys think there was a struggle out of the gate, because I saw the same thing. I'm actually Tell me why you guys think there was a struggle out of the gate. I saw the same thing. I'm actually in agreement with you guys, but I can't explain it. What do you attribute that to? You haven't played anybody for?

Speaker 3:

real, except for yourself all year. I think that kind of goes into it. Game speed is definitely different than anything you've done in practice. A lot of these teams. You've got a certain amount of transfers coming in coaches, staffs, overhaul. You've got a lot of different moving parts. I think every team that we've mentioned, including our own teams, had something major change in the offseason Ohio State new quarterback freshman coming to wide receiver. Oregon, you know, moving to a new division. You know it's just like a lot of different stuff and you have a lot of turmoil during the offseason. Even the stable teams still end up having some new stuff. So I think that's probably one of the biggest things.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that. I mean the transfer portal I think plays a huge factor in that. Yeah, that that players being able to move the NIL money out there for some teams, some smaller school teams too, I mean you can be a big fish in a little pond and and some kids thrive on that Like, hey, I'll go to, I'll go to West Virginia and be the entire town's hero, like Pat White was that one year in early 2000. So I mean, we look at that. I think that was the reason. Why is that there's so much movement? And I think that's why they went to 12 teams, because it wasn't fair.

Speaker 2:

Before, looking at the you know, first two games as an entirety of the season, right? So before it was like, okay, the four best teams, oh, you lost to Ohio State and it'd be first game of the season. It's like, yeah, but then I went 11-1 and won my conference and you're not going to put me in. It's like, okay, now you're utilizing that one game. The 12 team allows you to have maybe a slip up at the beginning to better yourself at the end.

Speaker 3:

I agree I definitely think you'll see better with the non-conference matchups, because that game actually doesn't really help hurt you at all. We can look at Clemson and we can laugh at them for losing Georgia, but honestly they haven't lost a conference game. They're still doing really well. All you got to do is one of the two best and you got a shot at that automatic bid.

Speaker 2:

I do agree with that, but I think the schedules actually get better going forward too as well, that's true.

Speaker 2:

All right so let's do schedules. I will say one thing about Herb's and Roger's Alabama team. They surprised me and they're going to be a team to reckon with being SEC. I was very wrong on your show, saying that Alabama I didn't think was going to do much Watching their game, watching that offense I know it was a cupcake game but watching that offense move, watching your young receivers come out and just basically say, hey, we're still Alabama, it's going to be a force to be reckoned with in the SEC. So I was wrong.

Speaker 3:

I think what's up. Nick, there's an old friend, how you doing? I?

Speaker 2:

don't know, I'm sitting there like yep so.

Speaker 3:

Trey texted me something like that earlier and I said the exact opposite. I'm going to wait until after Wisconsin and after Georgia, because last year we got all excited after the first game and then Texas was very humbling. So I'm going to wait until later on. Did I like what?

Speaker 1:

I saw.

Speaker 3:

Yes, but I'm definitely not going to get excited yet Got you Can't off week one.

Speaker 1:

Y'all just made five new friends, but it's all good though. Valid, take there. There's only a couple of games I think I might be interested in next week. Obviously, the Texas and Michigan matchup. I guess you guys can speak today if you'd like to. You don't have to.

Speaker 1:

Oregon, Boise State I'm watching that. Boise State has a series lead over them. I think they undefeated against them, I think. So that's interesting. And then, I think, maybe to some degree, the Colorado and Nebraska game. I'm interested to see how Nebraska handles Colorado, especially their offense and kind of what they do best. See if they take that away. I think their coaching staff is going to be looking to take away what Colorado does best. I think it's kind of the, that's the MO, but beside that I don't know what else is. I mean, there's some rivalries, but it's not something like Iowa, Iowa state. I'm not. I'm not really into it. So any also that you want to give them to Texas and Michigan. Do you guys want to let John roll on the Michigan part? How do you? Where do you want to go next?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I got two games that I'm really looking forward to, and it's I know I'm a little biased because I'm a fan of them as well and that's Syracuse-Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech with a big win at Florida State in Dublin and they're playing really good football. This could be potentially the ACC championship game. The way Clemson looks, the way Florida State looks, the only team that looks really good is Miami right now and Georgia Tech. So, realistically, this could be so. And the other game is Baylor Utah, my big 12 champion. I think Baylor Utah, baylor-utah my big 12 champion. It's Baylor. So I think Baylor-Utah. I'm saying that they're 15-point underdogs. I don't see it. I think it's going to be a hard-fought game and Baylor's going to make some noise, I think. So those two games. And then you also have got Tennessee, two ranked games Tennessee and NC State, 17 versus 24. You know Tennessee on the road, at the Wolfpack, we'll see what happens, you're not?

Speaker 1:

going to say Texas, michigan, you're just tap dancing around like Gregory Hines. You're not going to say Texas Michigan.

Speaker 2:

Texas Michigan is the obvious. You said any other game I wasn't going to any other games, but Texas Michigan is the obvious. One man, it's all.

Speaker 1:

My timeline. I can't even go on Twitter. I'm like alright, we know the game. We talk about it every day, literally all day long. I don't care where I go in at random, they're still talking about my game.

Speaker 3:

I thought you heard what he said what did you? Hear that you like heard no, no, he covered most of the games that I'll definitely be watching. Having the thought of going to the Bama game, I will be in Tuscaloosa, so I might miss some of these others.

Speaker 2:

And you know if you want to see our picks on the games.

Speaker 3:

You got to tune into our YouTube channel because we already picked a lot of the games you just missed. So I will say it's about the last one you mentioned. Before the year I did pick NC State to upset Tennessee and then I watched the first game for both of them and I'm not so confident in that anymore.

Speaker 3:

We also did pick Syracuse versus Georgia Tech. John and I have a bet that I already feel like I'm losing on Syracuse's record this year. It's like everyone in the ACC conspired to make me lose this bet. He won in Syracuse in the ACC championship game. I think I gave him 8-4 or something 9-3.

Speaker 2:

That's all you take to win the bet I think it was something around there that's still strong for Syracuse, I mean the back story behind Syracuse is. I'm from Syracuse and I love I was a season ticket holder with my grandfather my entire life. I have a story man. Oh, you already know it. Okay, good, you told me, it was already.

Speaker 1:

I knew it was already.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so all right. But for everyone who's listening, Syracuse has not had a good program in a very long time. And watching that offense and watching that defense, that's it. Yeah, I mean watching that offense and watching that defense, that's it. Yeah, I mean watching that offense play the way they. It just looked completely different on Saturday. So I'm hoping, like I said, and like I was saying, one game at a time, let's take it to next week.

Speaker 1:

All right, so all right. So, elephant in the room, hope you're going to have some time to talk about the science to the documentary. If you don't want it ain't no problem, I ain't going to be mad. You can go right to NFL predictions. You want a little bit to talk about this? I'll get a little bit Burning inside of you to go there, I'll go a little bit.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going to go in too much, I'll go a little bit. So yeah, the sign stealing was. The documentary was not what I expected. I was like crap, crap, crap, crap, crap. We're not. This is not good because the investigation is not over. What is he going to say?

Speaker 2:

But then I gained so much respect for the guy. I mean, this guy's dedication to his craft is unfazed. Now, granted, most people are going to say, yeah, he went and did all the games and everything like that. Yeah, okay, but he had the dream from when he was a kid and even learned from the best coaches that went into the military. So it's not even like he wanted to go to the military. He went there because he knew it was a good stepping stone to be a head coach in college football ranks. Then does everything he can to be around Michigan football, does everything he can to learn how to steal signs.

Speaker 2:

And for everyone that doesn't know, sign stealing is legal in college football. They don't need it anymore because they have the microphones, but it is legal. You can look across the sideline and you do get game tape from the other team Anyone that played football. No, you get your game tape and you have to watch it and you watch hours of it. That's just normal. So I don't think he was in the stands, I don't think he was recording, I don't know. I don't know. But at the end of the day Michigan was a dominant team. You can't take that away from them. They lost their coach at one point, two points in the season. They were beat up on injuries and had the hardest part of their schedule and still dominated. Every team had a little tough time against Maryland. That kind of made me nervous.

Speaker 2:

But at the end of the day, I think that documentary really showed a lot, gave me a lot of you know. Tipped my cap pretty much to Connor Stallings and you know I wish the best for the kid. I mean he's in high school football and you know I wish the best for him. I hope he gets a college football coaching job at some point, and you know the NCAA, I'll reserve that for another day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm with you man, I ain't going to play with a point. I kind of feel we talked about it, right, yeah right after.

Speaker 1:

While I was going on at the tail end we were talking about it. I mean, I'm in the same ballpark. I don't know what I'm about to do with the glasses. I don't know what to do with the glasses. I don't know. I don't know if I even care about that part as much as everybody else seemed to care about it. His dedication to what he was doing was just, it was top shelf and if you think he recorded stuff, okay, well, I guess it's a different topic. But them boys went out there and didn't. I said it repeatedly. Most people I know were quiet, no real responses, uh, reticent or whatever, but they were out there. They were dominating people, period. This is after the so-called uh hand was found in the cookie jar dominating people. It's like I don't. I don't know how you could ignore that, but I think I just have fatigue from last year and talking about it so much. Everybody wanted me on this show to talk about it. I'm like I'm just tired man.

Speaker 1:

I mean I want them to come out here. Are they going to be undefeated? I'm not saying that. I mean the schedule is not the worst in the world, but they got to do some things. I guess some quality opponents now that they have some some new people in the conference and stuff. Next week's going to be a challenge.

Speaker 1:

It's not going to be no cakewalk. It's not a powderpuff team. We got to beat them. I think defense is going to play a big part in that. I think we have a good defense to put up against them. But we got to do that. We got to have efficiency as quarterbacks. So I just want to see them kind of just do their best and if they win one or two games and still get into a playoff, I'm good. I just want to just move on. I mean, you're in the national championship. You don't want to move on from that so much. But I mean they ain't getting credit from select people Most of the football guys that know ball they're giving them props where it's due. Other people who their team's on the other side of it or whatever it was, they're not going to give you's due. Yeah, I mean the people who their teams on the other side of it or whatever it was, they're not going to give you the. It just is what it is.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, I mean realistically when you look at it, it's, it's, it's ridiculous. And you act like other teams weren't sign stealing. I mean, they had underground uh uh people, underground club, pretty much that would get together and do all this. Um, I think it's a little ridiculous that we want to crap on other teams. And I said this to you and you were like, yeah, I never thought about that. But if he was caught videotaping, then why did he only get a three-year ban? He would have got a lifetime ban if it was actually caught, if they actually had evidence, if he actually had everything. They were like, well, we got to do something. Three years.

Speaker 1:

That was chilling. That was really chilling, man. It's hard to ignore that. These guys at NCAA, these guys that hold vendettas the way they do vindictive people over there and they gave them three years. They don't tell you anything. Okay, vin did the people over there and they gave him three years. That don't tell you anything. Okay, at this point, the argument it can't be. We have a chance. It's not worth the time. Herb, do you have any thoughts? Now is your opportunity to say anything about this. You can, I don't want to kick you out.

Speaker 3:

You guys covered it very well.

Speaker 1:

Copy that. Okay, all right. So how do you guys feel about predictions for week one? You feel like you're ready for that. Yes, sir, there'll be document. I'm not writing anything down because we're up against it a little bit, but we can go ahead and just run through everything. I got some. I probably had those in front of you as well.

Speaker 1:

We start up with Thursday night, which is tonight. I'll be locked in for that one. The rest of the show comes on after that. Ooh, big mic. I don't know if I could be on the rest of the show tonight. I'm just kidding, all right. So Thursday night Ravens and Chiefs. I think the Chiefs are three point or went down to two and a half, which makes sense. The Ravens defense man. We need a chance to get into it, but that defense is sick man. We didn't get a chance to get into it, but their defense is sick man. Yeah, if it's not the number one defense, I challenge anybody that says otherwise. It's impactful. Their defense, of course. The board, their secondary, their linebacker. They got monsters out there. It's going to be a very good season for them. At least it should be. I got the Chiefs here regardless of that. I got them taking the points. What do you have for the Chiefs in the Ravens tonight, thursday night football?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's banner night. I mean, I think last year they got embarrassed on banner night and didn't play. They played through the old Detroit Lions and the new one, so I think this year they're going to come in hot. So, chiefs.

Speaker 1:

All right.

Speaker 3:

I went Baltimore A little something to prove after the way that AFC championship game went down and I think the Chiefs, yeah, they'll probably be a little drunk on the ceremony and stuff like that tonight, but I think they've just kind of proven we don't need to win every game, as long as we get to the playoffs. You guys are in trouble so.

Speaker 2:

I just feel like this might be a little bit more for Baltimore than Kansas City.

Speaker 3:

I went Baltimore.

Speaker 1:

All right. So what I'll do is, just because we've got so many games on the schedule, I want to get you guys ready to watch TNF. We'll just hit some highlight games. Is that a little better? Feel more comfortable with that, all right? How about Cowboys and the Browns? What do you?

Speaker 2:

have for that. That's the hardest game on the slate plate.

Speaker 1:

I got the Cowboys.

Speaker 2:

I went with the Browns. I got the Cowboys. Yeah, I think that defense for the Browns. I think, CeeDee Lamb not being there for a little bit, the Cowboys didn't do anything better. So I'm saying Browns.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, browns, because they're a home team too. Their defense is.

Speaker 1:

I hope you guys are right. And this will be.

Speaker 3:

Deshaun Watson's best game, and then, after game three, something will happen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, exactly I expect like this guy can't trust. That's why.

Speaker 3:

I mean this will be the game for 300, and then we're going to see Yep.

Speaker 2:

That's who we're going to see next after week three.

Speaker 1:

That passed you guys' argument, but it's like I don't trust him like that. I hear you. How about Rams and Lions? I'm going with the Lions on this one. It's going to be a tight game, like it was in the World Wild Card matchup from last year. Detroit won by a point. It's going to be something like that this year in this game too, for Sunday night I got the Lions. What do you guys have?

Speaker 3:

I went Lions at home, I'm going for one.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I'm sorry, no, no, you're good, you're the star. No, I would say I'm going Rams. I think Matthew Stafford, going back to Detroit again, wants to make a point of this Not lose twice. Frank, got better in the offseason. I'm saying Rams.

Speaker 1:

Copy that Jets Niners Monday night. What do you have?

Speaker 3:

Niners Niners Monday night. What do you have Niners Niners at home? I just think the Niners drama, especially now that the IU drama is over and Trent Williams drama is over too. I just like the Niners. Overall, I like them too.

Speaker 2:

You gave the Niners more incentive with this whole Ricky Pearsall incident and I'm not saying it was staged, but like this gave a lot more. Like Turner Williams said, yeah, I came back because of him. Like the team is railing around there, you're going to see a really good team. Jets offensive line is atrocious. Still, I don't think they get it done this year.

Speaker 1:

So Niners People called it one of the best ones out there. That's interesting Really. Yeah, the O-line and D-line is at the top of most of the rankings. I don't know if I agree, but that's what they're saying.

Speaker 2:

I'm like interesting I can't see it, unless we're getting ready to find out.

Speaker 1:

Right, they're about to learn how about Green Bay and Philly, philly's at home? This one, I know I excluded you, but I want to be fair.

Speaker 2:

Well they're home, but they're in Brazil, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, I don't know who. What's the real home team there? What do you got here? He's picking Philly. What do you got?

Speaker 3:

I'm taking Philly. I'm definitely taking Philly.

Speaker 1:

I kind of feel like they're going to do the same thing too. I think it's going to be a tight game, though.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah. Pre-made for them, it's just kind of are they going to play like they did the beginning of the year last year or the end of the year last year? I like them.

Speaker 1:

I like the schedule as well but I'm not sure they win this particular game. But it's going to say a lot about Philly. If they don't, it's going to say a whole lot. I'll be texting John, without no doubt. You sure your boy is ready for prime time. We'll see, though. How about Pittsburgh and Atlanta? Yeah, I'm really not sure there.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I gave it to Atlanta just because my trust in Russ and Fields is like zero. Not that my trust in Cousins is a lot, but I just went with Atlanta on this one. This is kind of one of those I'd probably be rooting for Pittsburgh, but to make a pick, I went with Atlanta.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that defensive alignment in Pittsburgh is so good. It's like who do you go with? I'm on the fence, but I'm going to go Pittsburgh on the road.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to Atlanta but it's hurting me. I'm like I want to see the world.

Speaker 3:

We will regret this pick yeah.

Speaker 1:

I guess you can change your mind anytime between 9 and 30. I don't know. All right, a couple more Houston and and 30, I don't know, but no, we'll just take it that way. All right, a couple more Houston and Indy, I'm going Houston. I'm probably going to keep doing that because I think what they had last year was great and they build exponentially since then. I have Stephon and some other ones, so I'm going Houston. What do you guys have? Houston or the Colts?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, I'm going Houston. What do you guys have? Houston or the Colts? I'm rooting for Houston also, so that helps. I just think Houston. They've got to start this year off strong. We still don't know getting the Colts and Richardson yet I'm going Houston.

Speaker 2:

Big benchmark around the Colts, kind of like the Jets, in my opinion. I'm saying Houston all day. They got better from a team. I can't see them losing a lot of games this year which is weird.

Speaker 1:

Well, I got, I got two more Last last two, jacksonville in Miami. I'm not going to answer. I want them to be mad at me, so I'm just, I'll just keep my pick to myself.

Speaker 3:

But Jackson, you already read him off, so he's gone. So you can say whatever you want.

Speaker 1:

Now we can't even have a discussion about people leaving. This is brothers, we have disagreements and we stick it out. We fight together, we stay together. We don't bail on each other. Okay, that's what I heard. All right, I'm going Miami here. I think they beat Jacksonville. They made some changes with their offense. I don't really know what that means. Trevor Lawrence has kind of been up and down a bit, to put it mildly, so I'll just go with Miami. They got the most regular pieces coming back, so I'm going with Miami. What do you guys have there? Miami or Jacksonville? Miami?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, definitely Miami especially at home, but they got to start off. This is one of those like this has got to be the year, kind of years for Miami. So you got to start it off right.

Speaker 1:

And I'm not a.

Speaker 3:

Jacksonville believer.

Speaker 1:

What's up, dog? Good to see you, brother. Thanks for jumping on man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm saying Miami too because, like Miami's, I just feel like it's just ready to go. Their offense is ready to just get out the gates, like they did last year. And I'll be down there. So I live in Miami, so we're doing a tailgate series.

Speaker 1:

We're doing a tailgate series. We'll take pictures of the game you're going to be. I hope you guys take a lot of pictures. I'd love to see those.

Speaker 3:

Just come by and pick me up and we'll go to the game. Forget all that, tuscaloosa.

Speaker 1:

I can't come by and pick you up, man you done nothing.

Speaker 2:

I'll go all the way to Tuscaloosa and then come back down to Miami. There you go, Thank you. John I appreciate it, John. I'm going to ask you out of the game with going to sit on the 50-yard line.

Speaker 3:

So now I got to ask you, you kicked me to the curb so quickly there.

Speaker 1:

I've never done that In your entire history. I've never kept you to the current, Last one Vikings and Giants. Honestly, I've been asked to another show. I don't really know.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I honestly don't know. I don't know. I know what the line says. It's one and a half for a reason, probably lower than that by now, but Sam Donald hopefully getting hit the ball to Jefferson and Addison. If he's playing and we got an offense, that might be good, it might not be, I don't know. What do you guys have? We can end the show with your thoughts. I have none. I don't know. I don't know. Vikings Giants, this is a tough one, man. I don't know. I don't know the answer. I'm going to say tie, you're going to push, I'm going to push, I'm going to tie. Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 2:

Good pick, Randy. I'm going to click on that and say they're going to tie that game. It's the first tie of the season there.

Speaker 1:

Oh gosh, I think I would hate that. But okay, how about you, Herb? What?

Speaker 3:

do you think I'm going to follow John? He says Ty. I'm going to say Ty.

Speaker 2:

Sounds good, John, Good pick buddy Wow. We're going to see 0-0-1.

Speaker 3:

Wow Good job. John.

Speaker 1:

You wouldn't want that for your team, but you know that's true. Okay, so Randy said he picked Colorado and Nebraska tonight at the running.

Speaker 2:

Okay, it's going to be a good game.

Speaker 1:

That one I mean Colorado's defense is not very good you know, I feel like you guys have parties and don't get invited. These comments make me feel like you guys are doing things and I'm not invited to the barbecue. It's kind of hurtful.

Speaker 3:

Which comment makes you think that.

Speaker 1:

Five miles from the herd. I'm like, wow, you guys are doing stuff together. I like to have fun. I'm just messing around.

Speaker 3:

I told you to come by Tuscaloosa to get me. You said, no, I ain't going all the way to Tuscaloosa.

Speaker 2:

That was like two minutes ago.

Speaker 3:

So you're invited. You just don't want to come to the barbecue.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'll tell you guys, we started a series last week called Tailgate Crashers. So basically we're going to different stadiums doing tailgates, interviewing people, checking out on our YouTube channel it's really cool. So we'll be in Miami this year, going to the? U at their home opener and then the Dolphins on Sunday. So it's going to be a busy weekend of content and just looking at best barbecue, best everything. What makes you different? If there is a tailgate out there, just let me know, I'll go to. I got to go to Tuscaloosa. I've never been there, okay.

Speaker 1:

You never know. Me and the wife are talking about. You know what? Can we go to Alabama and surprise Herb? Yeah, just don't be surprised. I might put a ton up. Don't be shocked by it. It could happen. But let you guys jump on your. Ooh, my God. Yeah, it's going to be a tough game, brother. If it's a low-scoring game, we're going to be all right. If it's a high-scoring game, I got me some concerns so we'll find out. But you guys go check out Thursday Night Football Ravens at Chiefs. I think all of us picked. I think, herb, you picked the Ravens right.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And John and I picked the Chiefs. We should have a turns out, probably be texting each other throughout the whole game. I'll be on the wrestling show at 9 o'clock. I hope you guys will still tune in. I know it's going to be during the football game. I respect the football fandom, but I'll still be on the wrestling show doing double duty. So we'll see how that turns out. But go watch the game. Have fun. We'll catch you guys next Thursday. We out.
