Thank you for watching. Welcome back to the All Purpose Pod for an all-purpose life. Wherever you are and however, you're listening to the Inspiration Station, and they call me Mr you, the podcast. Thank you for making us a part of your week. Excited to be back with you. I want to share something real quick with you guys. I'm excited about this because I feel like when we start talking about going into a new year, but they do the same things that were considered negative or debilitating behavior or constricting habits, and they do those same things in the new year, but expect the new year to be different. Something has to change at the start of the process. Something has to change with the mindset, something has to change with the habits, the disciplines. Something has to change on the front end so you can get a different result on the back end, if that makes sense.
Speaker 1:I always talk about this parable of the ten virgins because it's so powerful to me. It's in Luke 14, 28 to 30. It reads out of the Message Bible. It says well, let me back up a little bit. There is a quote out of Sun Tzu that I love. The book is awesome the Art of War but this quote is incredible. It says victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win. I'll repeat that again Victorious warriors win first, then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win. Now, I like that because it speaks about preparation. It speaks about a mindset, an attitude of victory that I believe a lot of people in today's time, especially those that call themselves believers, they don't function in and I really believe that there's something wrong with their seed. That's why they're not seeing the kind of harvest they're looking for, because something's wrong with the seed. I referenced earlier about one of my favorite parables of the 10 virgins, matthew 25, the first 13 verses. I'm not going to read the whole thing, it's a little bit lengthy, but the bottom line is that there were 10 virgins that were all trained. They had the same training, same education, same discipline, were reared up with the same stature, all in preparation for something great. But five of them put aside their preparation, they stopped their disciplines, they stopped preparing and seeking and readying themselves for the great thing they were in training for, and the five of them ended up missing out on the opportunity where the other five were able to enter in and gain all of the benefits that came with all their hard work, education, training, disciplines, etc. Why am I saying that? Because I really believe that in today's times there's something wrong with our seed. That's what I mean. I see in the great harvest. What's your plan? Are you just hoping for the best? What have you done with your seed? I believe today that there's victory in the seed.
Speaker 1:I know from somebody who has a big garden that I plant. We go and cultivate crops on a smaller level, excuse me Fruits, vegetables, that kind of thing but we recognize that there's no water from the sky. It doesn't matter how much seed we put in there. We know nothing's going to happen. These two things are hand in hand.
Speaker 1:We understand the value of the seed, a seed the kind of seed that we use to plant vegetables and fruits. They're so small, they're so minute, they're so tiny. You may find them insignificant. You may not think there's anything to it. You may find them insignificant. You may not think there's anything to it. Dropping one of those seeds and losing it is potentially a harvest that's missed. That one little seed can produce a great yield of collard greens or green onions or the herb oregano or a mulberry. That little seed has so much value.
Speaker 1:People who are in the farming, agricultural business. They won't waste one of their seeds. They recognize that all those seeds matter. They know that they put down 100% seed but they won't see 100% return out of every seed. Some seeds won't make it through the process. But they understand that there's victory in the seed and they understand the value of the seed. People talk about being fed from the fruit of a tree, but if there's no seed, there's no fruit. We've got to recognize that there is a process in the planting. There's a process in the growth and we can't avoid getting dirty. We can't avoid the dirtiness of being planted. It's not neat and tidy, it's messy to be planted, but there's victory in the seed. And I kind of want to just encourage you guys to say because I really feel as though we are focusing so much on what we want to see that we're not paying attention to the process. We're trying to skip steps and not paying attention to the process there's victory in the seed.
Speaker 1:What you do and this is something that I think is a mindset, especially amongst us believers, but even those that may not be so inclined. You can see it in your own life. Perhaps We've been taught it's a really bad teaching, but we've been taught that what we do is going to create the result that we want. What we do, our works, are going to create the kind of outcome that we want. But it's such a fallacy because it's not just that. My wife and I can go put seed in the ground. We do that twice a year. We go and seed that ground with everything that we want to see grow. But if there's no water from the sky, if there's no rain, we can try to water it, but it will never match up to what we get. When we have a really good rain or a series of days full of some really good rain, we see exponential growth, more than it was us with just a water hose watering that garden. It's really not about our works. Is my whole point there?
Speaker 1:What you do doesn't turn or transform into something great. That mindset is bad teaching. I hope we can break that myth today. If you're listening, I hope that that resonates for you today. What you do doesn't turn into something great. What you do doesn't transform magically into something great. The greatness is in the seed. The greatness is in the seed that you plant. Where does that come from? You're talking about an inventor or entrepreneur or philanthropist. They have a seed. Some of them had dreams, some of them had an idea that just kind of popped into their head and great things came as a result. It's not because of their greatness or their intelligence, or what school they went to, what college they went to. That seed is where the greatness was.
Speaker 1:We all have that seed of greatness inside of us, even if you're listening right now and you don't believe that you're a saved person, so to speak, or you have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, or you're living that. You're a saved person, so to speak, or you have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, or you're living a whole different lifestyle. We all have to see the greatness inside of us, every single one of us. It's not about you or your works. If you think that you're missing the keys, you're missing the most valuable key you may ever have in your life. You're only great because of who you're with. I don't mean your friend, I don't mean Bebe and them. You're only great because of the association. The power is in the association.
Speaker 1:I want to read John 15 real quick, the first five verses, first eight verses, I guess. Excuse me, but check this out. It says I am the true vine and my father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, or every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me as I also remain in you.
Speaker 1:No branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you this is God talking you will bear much fruit. Apart from me this is still God talking. Apart from me, you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. I'm going to say that verse seven again. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, that's a seed. Ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my father's glory. You bear much fruit, throwing yourself to be my disciples. Bottom line, bottom line of all of this, there's victory in the seed If you stay attached to the source of nourishment, the source of growth, which in this case is God. I just read that in John 15, 1 through 8, just now.
Speaker 1:Understand the value of the seed. It's not you and what you add to it. It's not your fairy dust you sprinkle on there. It's the value of the seed. It's not you and what you add to it. It's not your fairy dust you sprinkle on there, it's the value of the seed. The seed is what matters.
Speaker 1:If there's no seed, there's no harvest. If there's no seed, there's no chance of a harvest. Yes, we need rain. Yes, we need snow in some cases. Yes, we need the sunlight, but if there's no seed, all we have is rain and sunlight and nothing's going to grow. We are called upon to walk in that greatness and plant the seed. Put into the ground what we want to see grow. We can't avoid the dirtiness of planting. We've got to get dirty. Be willing to sacrifice to see the harvest that we expect. I hope this ministers to you. I hope this is a blessing to you. More to come, for sure, but thanks again for listening. We really appreciate your support for Inspiration Station and the they Call Me, mr U podcast. Have a great day. There's victory in the seed. Come on.
