Speaker 1:

hey, welcome back to t3. I'm your host, mr u. Uh, we are doing things a little bit different. Welcome back to T3. I'm your host, mr U. We are doing things a little bit different in the pre-draft season. For all of you guys that are following us on social media, you already know that on the first night of the draft I think it's April 24th, I think it is for the first round we're going to be fully live doing the NFL draft special, just for the first round. So we're going to have friends coming in along with our T3 squad members already going to be with us. We have some friends coming in from all over the country that will be in the studio with us dropping dimes about their favorite teams in the draft as we watch it live. That Thursday night, first round, first day of the draft. So we're excited about that.

Speaker 1:

But here I'm going to do something new to T3. Uh, some quick mock drafts. I'm going to start off with my new york football giants. I would pretty aware if you haven't already been following. We have several needs. We have about eight rounds in the entire draft so far, unless we trade back in some way. But we need quarterback, cornerback, interior O-line guy, probably a guard, a tackle, for sure, and we need some help at safety as well. We believe in that. Tyler Pinnock is probably going to free agency. He may come back with us, but you never know, when guys hit free agency from the Giants, sometimes they don't come back. So we'll see how that goes. I have some concern about the D-line the defensive tackle and edge myself personally, but we'll see how that goes. I have some concern about the D-line, the defensive tackle and edge myself personally, but we'll see how that plays out.

Speaker 1:

But we're going to do a three-round mock draft today and it's going to be about four picks. So be following along with us. It should be fun. It's going to be a little bit different, so kind of, join in with us as we get this knocked out. Check it out, all right. So we're using the uh mock draft database simulator today. Um, all right, you gotta deal with the ads, which is awful, but all right. So very first round, we can go ahead and get started and what you see now is that they all meet uh trays and they become increasingly horrible. The more that I'm on this simulator, the trades are even worse. It got me taking picks in 2016 and 2017, which is awful, but we had the third round pick In the first round of the draft. So far.

Speaker 1:

People are saying we should trade back. Honestly, I know we have a lot of needs, more than most teams. I feel like trading back wouldn't be great for us, at least not in the first round, but it's probably what's the most advantageous for us. So I'm not sure what the Giants are going to do, but for me, I'm trying to accumulate as much talent as possible. I believe Joe Shane and Brian Daywell's jobs depend on it, so they really need to get as much talent as possible top-tier talent. So they really need to get as much talent as possible top-tier talent.

Speaker 1:

What I have left right here is Abdul-Kadir has already been picked and Ward has already been chosen already, and we definitely need a quarterback here. But we're going to take Travis Hunter here. He is considered a generational talent. I think that at quarterback excuse me, at cornerback we need a lot of help there. I like what we have, but it's that we don't have elite talent in that quarterback and we definitely have to show that up. So for me, I think taking Travis Hunter here will be somebody who will be with us for a long period of time, many years in the organization and getting a chance to really show up our defense, which is really important. I think the Giants are known for their hard-nosed defense, at least not lately, but it's part of their legacy and Travis Hunter will help kind of bring that back. He doesn't mind hitting, he has a nose for the ball definitely a ball hawk and we need that against opposing quarterbacks, especially the NFC East, especially Now.

Speaker 1:

We're at a place now where I've been pretty vocal about this. We've got to get a quarterback and we can't afford to skimp on that. It has to happen. So for me, I'm going into the second round at pick 34. Jackson Dart still seems to be available. I'm taking him here to be our quarterback of the future. I like a lot of what he does. I think he's made some good decisions in tough situations. I think he makes some good decisions in tough situations. I think he's a smart athletic player. I think, after all that we saw last year the losses that we had honestly, at least 9 or 10 of them were definitely wins in my opinion. Had we had a quarterback that was at least competent enough to just do what quarterbacks do Hit open man, be smart, throw the ball away when you need to not take a sack, not lose yardage and ground those kind of things. I think Jackson Dark could be that level of quality player.

Speaker 1:

Now we're sitting here and we know that we have to have somebody at O-line. We need to have somebody on the D-line. I feel like we have to have some edge help too. That's another story. I feel like we have to have some edge help too. That's another story. We took care of linebacker last draft and the draft before. I think we should be okay there. Some freezing guys coming in to make some competition would be good.

Speaker 1:

At this point I'm going to go ahead and look in the interior O-line, because a lot of the guys that we had there underperformed and that just was not good for us. So the guy I wanted has already been taken. I'm going to take Marcus Embo right here. So I'm taking him here from Purdue. Big guy, nice kind of package when it comes to, you know, offensive line stuff. I think he's going to be good to grow in the position of tackle and we need it there. I think the guys that we have there they've been kind of sketchy at best haven't provided a lot of protection for Drew Locke and the string of quarterbacks that we had going. So I think this is a good start for a draft. I'm sure we'll be doing many more.

Speaker 1:

I probably won't do the Giants again publicly, I'll probably do it on my own, just to kind of see how it plays out. But right now we've got Travis Hunter going first at cornerback a generation of talent in my opinion. Jackson Dart will be our quarterback of the future. I think the worst quarterbacks out there, quarterbacks that probably don't deserve a first-round grade, they're going to get one. And then marcus mabou from purdue. I like some things I saw from him this past season. I think he's been stable and consistent.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna go with this, but I like where it's going so far. So we're gonna go ahead and uh and run that. But for me I think we're gonna have to really look at storing some areas in the uh, definitely in, definitely in the defensive realm, because right now I got some questions about something that's going on on defense with our Giants. I'm not quite sure what they're going to be doing about it. I saw a few things I was really concerned about. I think these guys if we get these guys, we should be pretty happy. We shouldn't be mad about this.

Speaker 1:

But we know that Destelon is probably one of the best players, if not the best player on our team, and deservedly so. He's been playing fantastic, I think. For me, I'm kind of concerned about what's going on outside of that. I don't know if Kibble is going to come back fully healthy, but if he does, it's going to be a big boost. We need to have some kind of edge rushing but I really feel like we need to go ahead and dig deep and try to find that, particularly in the draft.

Speaker 1:

I like Tyler Newman. I think he's come out strong. He didn't get rookie of the year but I think he's played very, very well and I like what he's doing there. Hope he can keep pinning at free safety. That's a good situation. Hopefully we don't have to change anything there. Our linebacker work not really a big problem with that. I saw issues with tackling last year. But Brian Burns and Micah McFadden and Kibito and Okoike those guys are bums Certainly feel like we can do something with that. But we'll see what happens. But for now we're going to go with that mock draft.

Speaker 1:

I want to hear you guys draft grades for me. Tell me how I did. I saw what the simulator says. It says all A. But what do you think about the draft grade? Did we do well for the Giants? Did that happen to play out the same way in the live NFL draft coming up in a couple of weeks? Let me know how I did. I can take, bring it on, give me your draft grades for the Giants. But beside that, thanks again for listening. Hope you're ready to hear our next mock draft coming up real soon. Have a great day. Thanks guys.
