Speaker 1:So the team today we're doing a mock draft for is the Houston Texans. I am trying to figure out how many picks these guys have this year. I did not see that, so I missed that one. My apologies, but either way, we know what they're looking for. They are only on their sites. They're posting. They have a need at Y receiver, which makes sense. Their following days is coming back off of ACL. And then on top of that you have Robert Woods, who's a free agent now Doubt very highly he's coming back. She takes a really, really good deal. Tank Dale coming back off of a leg injury, multiple. As a matter of fact, nico's been having hamstring issues Go blue baby, but he is definitely the number one right now. Until digs gets back, we'd have a nice little staff there outside of woods and bell being out for a little bit, but right now you got digs, bell and nico. That's not a bad situation, but I think they got eyes.
Speaker 1:Another wide receiver, because they don't know how these guys three guys basically coming off major injuries are going to uh react, getting back into the offseason training, offseason training program and then, of course, back onto the field. So wide receiver is one of the knees interior o-line, without question, probably at guard, mostly uh offensive tackle. Uh, I see I kind of can see why. There too some d-line, some edge help for sure, and some help at cornerback and running back as a backup to Joe Mixon. Behind him is Ogun Bawali and he's a free agent. He was always a wide receiver for wherever he was playing, especially in Tampa before that. So behind him is not a lot of help. Damian Pierce appears to not be the answer. So a backup at for Joe Mixon is going to be definitely in my target list.
Speaker 1:So we got a few rounds to pick here. I'm going to be looking at probably interior o-line uh wide receiver running back and maybe, if I can get a tackle, I'll try to help these guys out with this. So let's see what we can find here. We're looking for reliable guys to help round this team out. Honestly, this team is already doing pretty well with uh stacking talent. Uh, honestly, I can't say any bad things about it. Really, some guys just have some injury issues and they kind of fell back a little bit. But honestly, honestly, this team is really good. They really put together very well and I think that they're going to be a force to be reckoned with in years to come. There's some holes to fill, so we want to definitely try to help them out with that. So, for all my Texan fan friends out there, bear with me, I'm trying to give you some help out here. You guys are going to be picking at 25 here and dropping back two picks just to get a. I'm picking a fourth round, I guess fifth round Not quite sure it's worth it. So let's keep on moving now. No, thank you, we don't think we need that. So we'll keep on moving and find somebody that's going to help us out.
Speaker 1:So right now, right at the top, armand Membu. I like him a lot. I got some information on him, but the bottom line is that he is a stud back there. I mean, he's a mauler. He was shredding opposing defenders and he's really good. I think he's going to be a real asset to help out CJ Stroud. Lord knows he needs it. Last year he had a bit of a regression and he some of it was predicted, but we realized that he really needs some help. I mean a member-of-the-kind guy. You know he's really a wide tackle so I'm not sure he can play left tackle but perhaps he can move over. He's explosive, got really smooth delivery. He's really good at stopping the run. I can't say too much bad about him. There's some technique things that can be worked on. But I think Houston has some good coaches that can help him out with that.
Speaker 1:We're going to go ahead and take Membo here to help out that offensive line because they really need it. They had some big fails in the run in the pass game last year. Got a new OC coming in. I'm sure he'd love to have somebody he can work with. Uh, who hasn't learned so much bad stuff I have to unlearn it. So I think, with a new oc and with all the major failures in the past in the one game last year, I think maybe we'll be able to help him out uh. So let's keep on looking to see what we have that we can try to help this team out with. We're going to pass on that.
Speaker 1:Ooh, I like this guy, greg Zabel. He's been a big riser on the draft boards recently, been looking really good at senior bowl and apparently he's getting his name being out there a lot more than what we expected originally. So he's rising real quick. I like him because he's played all four O-line positions. He's best suited at guard, but he's played all four O-line positions well, four of them in his collegiate career and I think that he is the kind of versatility that these guys need here. Some of the guys on the O-line are a little bit up in age and probably playing their last year or two in Houston. So I think this guy's going to be great in pass protection quick feet, you know. He's definitely able to shred rushes and stuff and I think this is good. So I think he has a good core strength and balance and he's just a really tough guy. I like him here. I think CJ has a good core strength and balance and he's just a really tough guy. I like him here. I think CJ Shroud is going to love him, especially if he plays left tackle, which he's able to do for sure.
Speaker 1:We got a little bit of help with the O-line. That was one of the biggest things I wanted to get accomplished. So now I want to start looking at some offense for these guys. They sure definitely need something. So I'm going gonna try to see if we can help him out in that regard.
Speaker 1:What we got going on here ooh wow. This is the toughie. Let's move off of this for a second. I want to see if we have any tickets here. Okay, let's go ahead and start off. This is the reach for us, but I like him here. I like him because of what I believe the running back core needs behind Joe Mixon and I know I'm passing over DJ Giddens.
Speaker 1:I don't know a whole lot about him, but I do know Scatterbow. We're going to go ahead and take him. He's a bowling ball for sure. He's the kind of guy that is a great complement to Joe Mixon. I think it's going to make the running back core stronger. I know he had some big talk going into the last game of the collegiate season for them in the playoffs and things didn't go quite Arizona State's way, but they got manhandled for the most part. But Scatterbow was who he said he was. He's definitely that man and I think this is going to be a valued asset on the Texans. So I like this pick. I'm going to go ahead and do a little bit of a reach, but I like it. All right, I'm going to reject that trade as well. Let a little bit of a reach, but I like it. All right, I'm going to reject that trade as well. Let's see where we are. I think this is the kind of guy I think is going to help them. It's who I think it is.
Speaker 1:First off, let me make sure I don't lose anybody at DT here. Ooh, I'm going to stay on offense. I can't help myself. There's a stretch for us here. I'm going to go with Nick Nash, dan Jose State.
Speaker 1:This kid is electric. I think he's a fantastic player. I think he takes the tops off of defenses, has great hands, he's reliable, great route runner. I think he's going to be the kind of guy that I think is going to be a big help to CJ Stroud While these guys get back to their full health status. Meaning Diggs, dale and, of course, nico. So I like to say I got Membu with the first pick, we got Gray Zabel with the second pick, cameron Scadable from Arizona State, the bowling ball himself and Nick Nash. I think that the Texans are looking pretty good, but I want to hear you guys' thoughts. Hit me up with the draft grades on our YouTube channel at theycallmemisteryou or anywhere you find this episode simulcast on your social media. Love to hear back from you guys on what you think about this. Let's keep it going. More mock drafts to come. Thanks for listening. Have a great day.
