“From Seed to Significance: Building Big with Little”

Welcome, beautiful souls. In today’s episode, we explore the sacred truth that everything great begins with a seed. From David’s humble beginnings as a shepherd to the mustard seed of faith that moves mountains, history and Scripture remind us: small starts birth great legacies.

No matter your resources, your dream is valid. Like the Wright brothers who built flight in a bicycle shop, your limited tools can still shape extraordinary outcomes.

We’ll explore how to:
🌱 Overcome the fear of starting small
🌱 Recognize the value in your current resources
🌱 Stay committed through the quiet seasons of growth

Plus, we’ll reflect on:
🌱 What seed has God already placed in your hands?
🌱 How can limitations become invitations for growth?
🌱 What legacy are you quietly planting today?

• Staying committed through the quiet seasons of growth when progress isn't visible
• King David's story as an example of humble beginnings leading to significant legacy
• The Wright brothers making "a bicycle fly" with limited tools yet extraordinary outcomes
• Understanding God's perspective where "little is big and big is little" in the kingdom

• Many great ideas die because we let discouragement or time pass without nurturing them
• The best things in life grow at their proper pace, just like fruit needs the right time to ripen

Speaker 1:

Hey everybody, during this video we're going to explore three areas. One, overcome the fear of starting small. Two, recognize the value in your current resources Not your future resources, but your current resources. And three, help stay committed through the quiet seasons of growth. I know that's not easy. We're going to try to discuss all three during this episode and, if we have to, we'll turn it into a series to make sure we get all the information to you and into your hands so you can have success in this growth process. Enjoy the show. Thank you.

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the All Purpose Pod for an all-purpose life. Wherever you are and however you're listening to, the Call Me, mr you and the Inspiration Station thanks again for making us part of your week. It's been a while between episodes, huh Excited to be back with you guys. Lots been going on. Life has been definitely lifing, but we're here. Thank you for your support on all of our social media platforms.

Speaker 1:

All of your personal questions and comments coming in to me Definitely appreciate it. Hopefully, I answer all those as quickly as I was able to, but I want to get into this because this is, I think, a powerful series of topics. I'm going to get into it. We may not have enough time to do one episode on this. It may take multiple and I'm totally cool with that. This is that important and you know what you guys are that important as well. I'm entitled to this, from seed to significance building big with little. Why are we going here? I think this is important. All you beautiful souls that are hearing me right now today, thank you again for listening. I want to make sure you understand that for me, my appreciation is massive towards you guys. I want to explore the sacred truth in today's episode that everything great begins with a seed. I know we know that here, but I'm talking to you today. I hope you understand that here Everything great begins with a seed. We watch it If we do anything in the realm of gardening. We got videos on our youtube channel. We talk about gardening all the time, so you guys get to see or to go something from a seed all the way into fruit. It's on our youtube channel, clear evidence there. But everything in life starts with a seed. Your plans, goals, dreams they all start with a seed. Every success you have in your life began with some kind of seed.

Speaker 1:

I look back at the story of King David's life, arguably the greatest king in biblical history. Humble beginnings as a shepherd. If you look back at that story you'll see this man was getting no respect, out here basically fending for himself against lions and bears and wolves no support, excuse me. No support. Excuse me, no support from his family Out here taking care of the most important money-making component in their household and that's the sheep, where they made all of the income came from that. And they had this young man out here fending for himself all hours of the night and didn't even seem to love him the way he should be loved, didn't seem to respect him and honor him the way he should be. But in that regard he had humble beginnings. He worked his assignment, he did it with diligence, he never strayed away from his assignment and he always had that mustard seed of faith and that grew into a lifestyle that was indicative of somebody who was able to move mountains because of their faith, go through history and have great military conquests, do great things.

Speaker 1:

And if Scripture doesn't remind us of anything else, anywhere else in the Scripture we can look to the story of David and see that small starts birth great legacies. Excuse me y'all, small starts birth great legacies, no matter what your resources are, even to a degree I'm speaking to myself as I'm talking to you today no matter what your resources are, your dream is still valid. How many of you have put your dream to the side years ago and have yet to pick it back up? 10 years ago, 20 years ago, how about 30 years ago? I know some folks who I speak to in consultations and privately, people who are friends of mine and unpaying clients, and they all have a similar story. Some are 50, 60 years ago and they haven't picked the dream back up yet. The Wright brothers basically made a bicycle fly. They had limited tools, were able to shape extraordinary outcomes.

Speaker 1:

So today I want to talk about three areas again overcoming the fear of starting small, recognizing the value in your current resources not the ones you're going to have, but the ones you currently have right now and stay committed through the quiet seasons of growth. I can tell already this is going to take more than one episode, and that's fine. I want us to take some time to get into this. I think it's worth the time. I think it's worth the effort. So how do you build something small? How do you build something big with very little resources.

Speaker 1:

Most folks I know in the circles I run in they'll say oh, you got to have faith. No question, that's true. Every time you sit down in a chair you're exhibiting faith. You do not know if that chair is going to hold you up, but you sit down anyway, you don't even think about it. You grab your drink or your snack or your meal and you sit down in the chair, you don't even think about it. That's exhibiting faith and it's subconscious. You know the chair is going to hold you up in your mind, you just sit down.

Speaker 1:

How do you build something of significance in your life with very few resources? We're going to get into a lot of that. I really believe this with all my heart, that everything that we do, it's any of any significance that's valuable and important. It starts with a seed. Every big house that we intend to have starts with one brick, not two, 10 and 20, but it's also one brick, one brick at a time, one seed at a time, and we have historical precedence for this. We have biblical precedence for this.

Speaker 1:

The Bible says in Matthew 13, verse 31 and 32, that the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field. It's the smallest of all the seeds, but when it's grown it becomes the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree. Excuse me, but when it's grown it becomes the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree. So the birds of the air come and make their nest in its branches. That's just a parable that illustrates how a small beginning, something that looks small right now, can grow into something great.

Speaker 1:

Matthew 13, 31 and 32. I want you to get that. Luke 16 and 10 is a really important passage as well. I want you to have that as well. It says whoever can be trusted with little can be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with little will also be dishonest with much. This talks about faithfulness in small matters that can lead to trustworthiness in larger situations. Where are we going with this?

Speaker 1:

I want you to understand how God thinks, how he views things. The things that you think are small, that you do on the side, on the sneak chip kind of out here, trying to be slick. God cares about that and he sees it as a big deal. He thinks like, oh, it's a little white lie, not a big deal to God, is humongous. That's how he sees the other world around us and teach this. But in the kingdom little is big and big is little. Somebody is big and has a lot of pride and arrogance and ego and have all these titles next to their name and all these letters after their name and big offices in big penthouse suites, thinking they're better than everybody else sees them as small, not big. Somebody can be a person of very, very humble and honest means. They don't have a big position in the corporation, they don't have a lot of money, they don't drive a fancy car, they don't have a big family, they don't wear the nicest clothes, but they give, they're very charitable and generous and kind and loving, and they do that on a consistent basis. In God's mind, that person who seems little is big. You see it, little is big and big is little in the kingdom of God. I want you to understand that, because it's really going to be important what we're going to talk about during this series that we're getting into today. I'm not going to take up too much of your time. I'll try to bring it up in bite-sized portions so you guys can have something to chew on as we move forward in this. I'm sorry, excuse me, guys, one of the things that I think is a great question to start off with today is what seat has God already placed in your hands? What do you already have?

Speaker 1:

Every time I've read up on somebody who has invented something of any kind of note, what do you notice about their life? See, a lot of times we focus on the invention, what they did, or even the struggle of how they got to the place where they made it happen, whether it be a Steve Jobs or somebody who has done something great in the realm of invention and innovation. I look back at the history. How did these people, who are great inventors, grow up? How did they get here? What did they have to endure as a child? Did their parents support their goals and dreams? Did their friends make fun of them because of their ideas? Were they down on themselves and experienced low self-esteem? What did they deal with to get to the place, from being in the seed realm to significance in creativity and innovation and invention? How did they get there? Creativity and innovation and invention how did they get there?

Speaker 1:

I think it's important because right now, I truly believe and I'm talking to you, I truly believe that in your hands is the seed of significance. You can't see it. It's not sprouting yet. There's no stems, there's no planting yet, there's no fruit to show yet. It's just in a seed form. I believe you have that. I believe you have that available right now. Some of the folks that are listening to this right now are probably trying to find a way to go back to school because they think that's the way to get a good paying job and to have money in life, to have wealth in life, to work at a big corporation and try to move up, which generally we know how long that usually takes 15, sometimes 30 years to move up In today's economic climate. It may take longer and it may take you even longer to have a real retirement, but inside of you right now you have a seed of significance. I believe it's already in your hands.

Speaker 1:

Ask me how I know there's so many ideas that I've had since I was young. I put them in a desk drawer, I put them in a journal somewhere on a bookshelf, didn't go back to it, and now we're talking 10, 20, 30 plus years later. I'm remembering that I had these ideas forever ago, never did anything with them. They just sat on the shelf with cobwebs all over them, and they were significant ideas, but I let people talk me out of it, I let people discourage me from it, because the world around me whether it be the people, whether it be my family, or whether it just be the media and what people say, just in open circles, that my idea probably wouldn't work because of how things are. How many seeds have you left unkept in your life up to date? How many seeds were in the ground but you let them die because you didn't water them, you didn't give them any sunlight? What seeds has already been placed in your hands that you have not touched yet?

Speaker 1:

I really feel like we need to get into that part before we start getting into anything else. I want to explore overcoming the fear of starting small. There's a scripture in the Bible also that talks about despising not small beginnings, and I really believe that everything, whether it's a dream or a goal, you have, you have a project, a connection, you want to make an effort, any kind of work, any kind of outcome, it's developed and it starts from a single seed. If it's worth anything, it develops from a seed and we have to be cool with not being from zero to a hundred in just a matter of minutes. The best things in life grow at their proper pace.

Speaker 1:

We talk a lot about what we do in the gardening world. Out here in our backyard. Is that the biggest backyard in the world, if it's big enough? We grow a lot of fruits and vegetables and for us sometimes the timing is not fast enough. But if you want the best flavor out of that vegetable, the best flavor out of that fruit, you don't want to pull it before it's time. You wait until the time is right and then you enjoy the fruit and the massive amount of flavor that's going to be in it. You pull it early. It might taste sour, might not be as sweet as it needs to be whether it be a berry or apple or what have you and you dread it. You don't enjoy it because it's not the way it was intended. There's a timing for that seed that's inside of you. There's a timing for accomplishing that goal.

Speaker 1:

We're going to get into it in more detail on the next episode. So I'll go ahead and let us close out right here and we'll come back to maybe one or two more episodes of this and we'll get into this with more detail and hopefully we'll help you solve those three issues that we talked about earlier Overcoming the fear of starting small, recognizing the value in your current resources and staying committed through the quiet seasons of growth. Those quiet seasons seem to be so loud. We're going to try to help you out with all three of those as we move forward into this series. But thank you again for listening to the Call Me, mr U and the Inspiration Station and, of course and most definitely, thank you for making us part of your week. More episodes coming up soon. Thanks for listening.
